Our goal is to support Spanish-speaking patients in activities surrounding their St. Vincent’s Clinic appointment. We want to ensure that patients can navigate clinic information surrounding their visit with confidence by providing guidance in their own language.
Main tasks students in the front desk can help with:

1. Make phone calls to confirm attendance of patients to the clinic
2. Make phone calls to provide patients with test results. (This is a really important need in the clinic, since we were told that sometimes notification of results to Spanish speaking patients gets pushed back until someone who can actually do it shows up to the clinic).
3. Fill out the “check in” questionnaire for patients arriving for their appointment
4. Answer any questions the patients may have during their visit
5. Have someone that guides patients to their room and guides them in the process of scheduling follow ups and any other consultation in other clinics.

This St. Vincent's Health Fair sign-up is for volunteers who will participate in an approved student organization ran booth. Student organization booths will approve their own member volunteers and the student organization leader will let you know which shift and responsibility you will have within the student org booth. All volunteers (student org booths included) are required to attend a training session hosted by the St. Vincent's Community Engagement Committee before they are able to sign-up.
