Harmony Healers - Vocal Performance

The Harmony Healers program is an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to come together to perform music for patients in the hospital and increase patient morale. Students who sing and/or play an instrument (regardless of skill level) are welcome to attend these sessions to prepare and perform music for patients. As soon as you arrive, you will receive music and will rehearse with your fellow musicians for one hour. At 2:00pm, you will go up to your assigned unit and perform for patients until 3:00pm. Music and Medicine and Syncope will provide music for you to play, intentionally arranged so that it will be easy to sight-read.

Hospital to Home

Dress Code: Business Professional or Scrubs. Please be sure to view the video stream link prior to attending your session. Hospital to Home (H2H) is a student-led clinical experience aimed at connecting hospitalized patients at high risk for unmet social and medical needs with the appropriate resources. The program aims to improve health outcomes and reduce the need for future hospitalization. Students in the program help facilitate a successful transition of care by providing basic medical equipment, assessing social determinants of health, and identifying community resources to bridge those gaps. You need access to St. Vincent’s Epic Context while volunteering with H2H, please make sure to activate your access prior to volunteering.
a. If you have never volunteered at St. Vincent’s and don’t have access then you will need to go to this website: https://intranet.utmb.edu/emr/current-offerings/st-vincents-clinics (need to be on UTMB network to access), St. Vincent's Clinics (utmb.edu) and complete the training: –> Current MS2-3-4/…. The first one on the list.
b. If you have logged-in to St. Vincent’s Epic before but it has been a while (longer than 90 days), you will need to call the help desk to have them reactivate your access – 409-772-5200.
