Do they need to bring their own pumpkins, etc? SMART provides all the mini-pumpkins, paint, brushes and other equipment. This is a messy activity, so volunteers should wear their old clothes so they don't mind a little spot of accidental paint. This activity is very popular. Last year for the pumpkin painting party in the garden, we had 43 people. This is a SMART Party, so volunteers will also read aloud with the children and parents, give away books, and teach about the nutritional value of squash and other vegetables. The party starts as parents arrive to pick up their children, we recommend parking in the lot at Moody Methodist Church and stepping over the curb. Look for Paula at the garden close to the main office at 5:00. Don’t go to the garden on Ave S.
