Volunteer with BLAST to mentor 5th – 6th grade students through hands-on STEM experiments and research. Medical students work alongside teachers to guide students through experiments, scientific discovery, and research projects. Volunteers will: • Lead hands-on science activities • Mentor students through research projects which are to be presented at the GISD science fair • Help students prepare for the BLAST Research Symposium at UTMB • Gain experience in teaching, communication, and community engagement This is an active, hands-on volunteer opportunity designed for medical students who want to make a meaningful impact in the Galveston community.
