During this outpatient dermatology shadowing experience, you will observe how dermatologists evaluate and care for patients with a variety of skin conditions. You will gain early exposure to the dermatologic history and physical examination, including how skin findings are described and interpreted, while observing patient-centered communication, clinical reasoning, and the flow of care in an outpatient specialty clinic. This experience is designed to help you connect foundational science and clinical skills with real-world patient care. Dress Code: - Scrubs suitable for clinic use and white coat. - You must have your student ID visible. You will not be allowed entry without your student id. Please make sure to follow all guidelines for working in TDCJ Hospital; you are not allowed to bring in a bag (besides clear gallon size bag), phone, smart watch, etc. Please plan accordingly. Enter through security gate on 4th Floor, check in with residents.

Review recorded patient interview, write H&P with differential diagnosis and initial plan for further evaluation/treatment, and prepare for oral presentation prior to session. During session, students will give an oral presentation to the facilitator in front of peers. Facilitator will provide feedback to oral presentation and written H&P. Will discuss differential diagnosis and management plan as a group. Dress Code: Business casual/usual clinic attire preferred
