UTMB OT students have the opportunity to participate in learning experiences supporting the provision of occupational therapy services under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist’s Supervision. Student may have varying experiences. Potential learning experiences may include partnering directly the OTR or may be a collaborative learning experience with medical students to help identify potential OT needs. All OT services provided must be approved by the OTR prior to implementation. Four volunteer spots are open on this day. Two slots are available for each OT cohort.
UTMB Students will collaborate with a licensed OT and OT student ambassadors to lead occupational therapy mental health groups on Thursday evenings. These groups are focused on helping clients gain the knowledge and skills needed to improve their own lives.
