Urban Strategies is part of the Galveston Revitalization Program located at the Cedars at Carver Park, the Villas on the This 13-week Eco-Art Residency program provides 3rd–8th grade students living in Galveston’s Northside of Broadway community with hands-on learning in science, art, and environmental stewardship. Based at The Oleanders at Broadway, students will explore STEM and fine arts through interactive lessons, mural creation, and local field adventures across the island. Through this experience, students will build confidence, connect with their environment, and see themselves as scientists, artists, and leaders in their own community.
• Mondays & Friday: Students (Grades 3–8) will explore science and art through hands-on lessons and begin designing a large mural focused on Galveston’s natural environment.
• Tuesday: Reading
• Wednesday: Math
• Thursdays (Family STEAM Nights): Families are invited to join for interactive science and art activities—like underwater robotics, dissections, and environmental exploration.
When UTMB students arrive at The Oleanders at Broadway, you park at the second building. (The second building behind the main one right off Broadway) Upon arrival, be sure to sign your name on the sign-in sheet with leadership.
