Galveston Central Church opens-up their facility to all, including people experiencing homelessness, providing a warm meal, hot shower, laundry services, bike repair, and partnership to empower them in their journey of life. CHRISTUS Our Daily Bread provides nutritious meals, clean clothing, personal hygiene, mental health, and medical services to the community, many of whom are experiencing homelessness. You will serve as a general volunteer, a big need is helping in the kitchen for food preparation.
Food Pantry volunteers help organize and sort food and hygiene items, pack grocery bags and snack packs, and distribute groceries, hygiene items, cleaning supplies and snack packs to clients during pantry hours.
The event is a community service initiative aimed at providing lunch to the unhoused and underserved individuals in Galveston. Hosted at Galveston Central Church, volunteers will come together to prepare and serve meals, ensuring that those in need receive a hot meal and a sense of support and community.
